OPENING LETTER
Dear Subscribers,
Hello Everyone. We are well into yet another year, 2002. Imagine.
Remember back when the year 2000 seemed like science fiction?
Ever stop and wonder where all the time and years went?
Do you have strong feelings and intentions for 2002? Or do the days
and years just kind of go by in your life?
Why not sit back a moment and question your life, your relationships,
the patterns of your life? Why go on doing things, being with people,
living a life that does not enthuse you; bring you to the edge of
your passion?
Life is a precious opportunity to break through our blocks
and misrepresentations of our divine selves. Each of us
is at our core an endless creative fountain. We are all far more
capable, powerful, and wonderful than we allow ourselves to be.
What inspires you? Think back. What turns you on? Gets you all
excited and gushing with enthusiasm? Or have you buried your real
self under so many hurts, fears, and judgments that you no longer
feel the wonders of life as through a child's heart?
Does music inspire you? An artist's paintings? Mother Theresa? Are
you fascinated by the way buildings are constructed? Perhaps you
are delighted by fabric design and fashion? Want to start your own
business? Have you always wanted to dance like you see in the movies?
Make passionate love with abandon? Do you have strong desires to be
healthy, full of vitality, weigh a certain weight? Have you swallowed all
the lies that say you can not have what you desire; that it is difficult
to attain; that you don't have what it takes?
Do you know you are your fascinations and inspirations? Do you know
what excites you on the movie screens, in the books you are reading,
in the private places of your heart and mind, what inspires you in other
people, is not only what you are capable of experiencing, but is your own
spirit calling to you? "Look, that is you, that is me, this is who we are! Go
for it, allow me, your real self to come shining through into the light of day!
Then you will feel ALIVE, passionate about life, enlightened."
The world is a mirror for the becoming of your consciousness. What inspires
you outside yourself already exists within you. All you admire, value in others,
that which motivates and inspires you - awaits realization in your
day to day life.
You could not feel or see something that you are not. Now is the time
to realize yourself. You can have it all. What are you waiting for?
Push yourself. Demand of the universe. Set clearly your intentions. Say
exactly what you want and how it will be! Do not take 'no' from your little
ego self - embrace only 'yes'. Believe in yourself. Have faith - leap!
Life is short. It can change radically at any moment. People are
so often regretful in hindsight. 'I should have...If only I had...
life would have been different.' Yet only the present really matters.
What you feel right now, whether you feel excited, passionate,
jumping for joy with your life, work and personal relationships -
is all that matters. When you fall in love, is not love all there is?
Do you doubt you can fall in love again?
I am suggesting that you fall asleep at night, and upon waking every
morning, and many moments throughout each day, and certainly at
every disappointing and difficult moment...affirm the beauty and love
and joy and divinity that you really are; state your all-embracing
connection with God; state clearly your intentions; continually state
your intentions (how you want your experience of life to be and feel).
Your experiences in life, your very life, follows and materializes out
of your strongly held beliefs and statements of who you are and
what you believe. You are co-creator with God of your life.
I always ask for God's will to be done in my life. For I believe God's
will is exactly the same as my divine will - and will lead to my greatest
happiness and success. How do we know what to ask for? Ask for your
highest and best to materialize in your life. Our task is to take our best
shot at it; come from our heart and soul; use the power of our minds;
and be open to the constant feedback we are receiving; make corrections
as needed; and again use our free will to state our intentions.
If you don't state clearly and consciously your intentions,
then your subconscious intentions (including the world's and other people's)
will become your reality. Is your life following patterns? Does your life and
relationships disappoint you? Then you are not setting your intentions
consciously. When you take responsibility for your life, and utilize fully your
God given powers of right use of mind, then life becomes a passionate,
thrilling, an ever transforming joyful experience.
The biggest block we all need to break through is the misconception that we
are somehow fated to continue to experience life just about how we have;
that people, life, and history does not really change but continually repeats itself.
Again, as we believe so it will be. I have experienced clearly in my life that
we are capable of completely changing our reality; that we can be and do
anything we set our hearts and minds on. 'Magic' and 'miracles' are simply
the manifestations of embracing the reality of your attunement between your
human self and your God-self. Your mind is the negotiator between the two.
Again, use your mind to choose your reality. State what you want, see it, feel it
in your heart and bones. And before your very eyes life will unfold, as if
by 'magic.' 'Miracles' will not cease just as long as you do not cease to know
all is unfolding perfectly'; that you are being sent everything you need; and that
you are open to and accepting all the good (God) that is ever present in
your presence.
So begin today by asking within what it is that you really want. Then in total
faith set your intentions daily for it to be realized. Do not accept the world's
voices and your own ego's voice that tells you 'it can not be so'. You can do
anything that inspires you. You can sing and dance and write and paint and
build and create and love and heal and experience optimal health and vitality.
Wait not for some tragedy to open your heart. I have made that terrible mistake
in my life. Deep suffering can open our hearts to the truth, but this is not
a necessary path to take. I would rather you be inspired by my experiences
and words and choose to change now. Being forced to change is too dangerous
and painful. Change is forced upon those who are not actively choosing change.
Choose change now. Don't wait another minute.

Here is a reminder to get the chemicals out of your diet,
out of your home, off your skin, away from your
children and pets. Chemical toxins contribute to and cause
Cancer, allergies, depression, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's,

Motivating Children to Change Behavior
I have learned over the years, through trial and
error, which approach for motivating behavior works
best with each of my children. Elizabeth, 11, has
been playing the piano for a year. I vowed to myself
that I wouldn't nag her about practicing as it might
clobber her inherent joy for music. If I've noticed
that she's been too busy with other activities to
spend time with the piano, I'll remind her how much
I love to hear her play while I'm making dinner or
ask if she remembers that song she worked on last
month with a Hungarian beat. I'll move into the
living room with paperwork and just "be" there and
pretty soon she will drift in and begin playing.
Motivating children and helping them identify and
change limiting patterns doesn't have to switch
you into an authoritarian taskmaster who controls,
punishes, or nags. Here are some alternatives:
*Change your own behavior
Notice what YOU are doing when your house feels
calmer, there's no whining going on, your teenager
is off the phone and talking to you. You are completely
responsible for your own behavior and I promise it
has a profound effect on the actions of those you
live with. Begin this week paying attention to your
child's positive behavior and make a note of what
your actions were at the time. You might begin to
see a connection.
*Rules for living
What are the set rules for living in your household?
If you haven't articulated them it's time you do.
These are the ground rules that help put the structure
in place for positive behavior. For instance, you
might believe in limiting television, phone calls,
and computer time so your kids have the opportunity
to read, talk to each other and focus on homework
and hobbies. As long as you are clear about why
the rules are in place and consistent with what
the rules are, ultimately they become part of the
fabric of your children's lives. If you begin to
bargain or compromise these rules, children will
feel the clarity begin to dissipate and their energy
will funnel into negotiation skills rather than
the behavior the rules were created to illicit.
*Gotta have your love
Children, no matter their age, want to please you.
They are love-seeking beings. Your love, attention,
interest, and authentic listening is the strongest
positive motivator there is. Be mindful of this
power and cautious not to withhold love when you
are less then delighted with your kids. My husband
recalls the harshest punishment he ever received
was when he was a small boy and his parents had
forbidden early morning cartoons. He snuck downstairs
one Saturday morning and turned on the television.
His father loomed in the doorway and crushed the
little boy with these words, "I'm so disappointed
in you. You've broken our bond of trust." Ouch.
*Using time thoughtfully
A recent study came out that says we spend on average
14-1/2 minutes per day with our kids, of which slightly
more than 12-1/2 of these minutes are spent in one-way
(parent to child) negative communication! Let the
little things go and choose to create an atmosphere
of praise and joy rather than criticism and judgment.
A soulful home builds the spirits of those who live
there. Set out to add more light and joy to your
home so the time you all spend together is fulfilling.
When the ground rules are set, praise is freely given
for positive actions, love guides your words, and
you spend time with your kids, then it doesn't matter
if the jeans are a little ragged, the bed isn't made
crisply, the test score is a B rather than an A,
or the blocks aren't put in the appropriate bin.
*Parental Goal
What one sentence sums up your goal as a parent?
Take a moment to write it down. Maybe you want to
raise kids who grow into loving people or nourish
your children to live out their dreams. Rely on
your goal when reacting to your children's behavior.
It makes your choices much clearer.
Changing patterns and establishing new ground rules
can take time, but stick with it. Form a clear
objective, visualize the actions you would like
your child to take, and then be attentive and
vocal when you see movement in that direction.
A positive byproduct will be less stress and more
collaboration in your household.

MORE HEALTH TIPS:
***Many people take the same supplements daily for
years. It is not a good idea. It is best to vary supplements,
and certainly herbs periodically. Generally speaking, take
a break for a few weeks after three months. Perhaps take
a month or two off after 6 months. Certainly after a year take
some months off. It is even a good idea to vary what you take
on a daily basis. Of course there are certain supplements like
thyroid or digestive enzymes that we may need to take
continually. But I am talking about many other supplements. Think
of them a little more like food. It is not wise to eat the same things
always day after day. We set up imbalances this way due to specific
ratios inherent in each food and supplement.
I suggest that my clients that have not spoken to me in many months,
to check in briefly to go over what you are taking.
***Ginger, the fresh root, dried powder, or tea, is settling to upset
stomachs. It especially assists with the digestion of fats and proteins.
Therefore it is traditionally often used in meat and fish dishes. Also,
try it when your stomach is upset. It can be very soothing. It is also
warming when you are feeling sluggish or cold.
***A lot of people are negatively affected by fluorescent lighting.
It makes them feel fatigued, lose concentration, etc. These bulbs
can be replaced by full spectrum bulbs. I like Ott bulbs in particular,
but Vita Lights are popular, and there are others on the market.
***Constipation is a very common problem and far more harmful to
a person's short term and long term health than is often realized.
If your bowel movements are not daily and easy, it is very important
that you do something to remedy this problem. You do not want
to use the type of products found in pharmacies. On the other hand,
most health store type herbal products are also over-stimulating,
